UPDATE AT 12:00 PM – The Australian girl group Bardot will reunite for a special live performance at the inaugural Mighty Hoopla festival in Sydney. This event, taking place on February 21 at Bondi Beach, marks a milestone as it is the first time Mighty Hoopla has expanded beyond its London origins.

Members Belinda Chapple, Katie Underwood, Tiffani Wood, and Sally Polihronas will perform, generating significant excitement among fans. Notably, Sophie Monk will not participate in this reunion, yet anticipation is high, particularly within the LGBTQ+ community that has long awaited this moment.

The legacy of Bardot

The legacy of Bardot continues to resonate with fans since their debut in 1999 on the reality TV series Popstars. This show not only launched the group but also set the stage for their rise to fame. Initially, the ensemble featured Chantelle Barry, who departed mid-filming due to a theft scandal that impacted her public image.

Their debut single, Poison, quickly climbed to the top of the Australian charts, solidifying their status as a prominent act. Throughout their career, Bardot released two successful albums, Bardot and Play It Like That, and made a notable appearance at the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras in 2002. However, their journey came to an abrupt end later that year, culminating in the group’s disbandment.

A nostalgic return

Fast forward to, and Bardot celebrated their 20th anniversary with a compilation album entitled Greatest Hits. This release rekindled interest in their music, and now, with the reunion, fans are eager for a live experience that has been long awaited.
