In the ever-evolving landscape of pop culture, few moments have the power to catapult an artist to global fame overnight. For Australian singer G Flip that moment came courtesy of Amazon Prime’s ice hockey romcom series Off Campus. The show’s debut season became a phenomenon, drawing in 36 million viewers worldwide and sparking countless trends across social media platforms.
However, it was a particular scene featuring a raunchy montage set to G Flip’s song Bed On Fire that truly changed the game. The track’s inclusion in the show led to viral fame, adding to G Flip’s already impressive list of internet sensations, including their 2026 cover of Taylor Swift’s Cruel Summer and their iconic Halloween costumes with Chrishell Stause.
From viral fame to global tours
The fallout from Off Campus was unlike anything G Flip had experienced before. Speaking just before embarking on their latest tour, G shared their excitement about the whirlwind of events. “It was crazy. Every day, it was getting bigger and bigger. It’s still crazy right now. It’s been a wild little ride,” G laughed.
Since the show aired, G Flip has had the opportunity to meet with the cast of Off Campus to celebrate its success. In a unique gesture, G even asked the cast to tattoo their leg, commemorating this chapter in their life. “What better way to commemorate this whole little chapter in my life than getting the awesome cast to whack some ink on my thigh,” G explained.
The power of queer representation
G Flip wasn’t the only queer artist featured on the show’s tracklist. Songs from artists like Nxdia and Remi Wolf were also used at key points during the series. “There wasn’t much queer representation on the show, but that playlist was queer as fuck,” G explained. “It highlights these artists who might have only been found in queer pockets. Me and Nxdia had a call this weekend about how lucky we are and how crazy it is.”
In a year marked by both incredible highs and lows for the LGBTQIA+ community G Flip has a powerful message for queer people everywhere. “To all queer people, be exactly who you are. Don’t worry about the noise. Just be authentically yourself. You’re not alone. We only have this one life.”
Creating a safe space on tour
As G Flip prepares to embark on their Bed On Fire Tour they are excited to bring their unique energy to venues around the world, including London’s iconic Moth Club where they will be performing for two nights. “I love a packed room with a sweaty vibe. I can’t wait. My shows have always been a very safe space. I want it to feel like a chosen family. Everyone’s accepting of everyone. It’s just full of love. I always set out to create a space where everyone can be exactly who they want to be, dress how they want to dress, sing, dance!”
With all eyes on G Flip, the future has never seemed so bright. When asked about a potential cameo in season two of Off Campus G had some fun ideas. “Driving a Zamboni or an untrained figure skater vibe or maybe I could clean the hockey sticks!” G joked.
G Flip’s iconic Halloween costume with Chrishell Stause is also set to make a comeback, with a possible Off Campus reference. “Chrishell would make a great Garrett!” G smiled.
Bed On Fire is from G Flip’s album Dream Ride and upcoming show dates can be found on their official website: /.
