As London braces for a severe heatwave, Wembley Stadium has announced several policy changes to ensure the safety and comfort of attendees for Harry Styles’ upcoming concert on 23 June 2026. The venue is relaxing its usual water bottle rules and implementing additional measures to help fans stay cool during the extreme heat.
The Met Office has issued a red extreme heat warning, prompting Wembley Stadium to take proactive steps. Fans are now permitted to bring metal or hard plastic bottles to the concert, and empty soft-plastic bottles up to 500ml are also allowed. The venue has also reduced the price of bottled water by 50 per cent and will provide free sun cream at information points inside the stadium.
New Policies for Heatwave Safety
In response to the soaring temperatures, Wembley Stadium has updated its guidelines to prioritize fan safety. A spokesperson for the venue stated, “Our traditional policies around water bottles have been relaxed for the past few events as temperatures have risen, and we would encourage guests to bring bottles as per above and refill them inside the stadium.”
The stadium is advising attendees to pace themselves and stay hydrated. “Avoid consuming too much alcohol. Stay hydrated with water.” is the key message being promoted. Additionally, fans are encouraged to take breaks in shaded areas, wear sun cream, dress in loose, breathable clothing, and avoid arriving too early.
Travel Advisory and Concert Timings
With the heat affecting travel, National Rail has urged people to “please only travel if absolutely necessary” in its travel advice issued on 13 June 2026. The concert is part of Styles’ record-breaking 12-night Wembley Stadium residency which began on 12 June 2026 and continues through to 4 .
On 23 June 2026 doors will open at 5pm with special guest Shania Twain taking the stage at 6.55pm. Harry Styles is expected to begin his set at 8.15pm with a 10.30pm curfew. Remaining dates include 26, 27, and 29 June plus 1, 3, and 4 .
Inclusive Concert Atmosphere
Harry Styles is known for his fashion-forward, gender-nonconforming style and an inclusive concert atmosphere that often includes visible Pride flags. While he has not publicly labeled his own sexuality, his concerts are celebrated for their inclusivity and vibrant energy.
As the heatwave continues, these policy changes aim to ensure that fans can enjoy the concert safely and comfortably. Wembley Stadium’s proactive measures reflect a commitment to fan welfare during extreme weather conditions.
