The LGBTQIA+ community in Logan City is gearing up for an unforgettable celebration as House of La Sadéa prominent ballroom housemakes its debut at the second annual Logan Pride March and Picnic. This year’s event, taking place on Saturday, July 4, 2026 at Logan River Parklandspromises to be a vibrant showcase of resilience, joy, and community.

The first Logan Pride March, held last year, marked a historic moment for the region. This year, the event is expanding its cultural offerings with the inclusion of ballroom culturea significant milestone for Logan’s LGBTQIA+ arts scene. House of La Sadé, known for its commitment to building resilience and fostering a safe space for queer and trans people with lived experienceis set to lead the march and perform an exclusive showcase.

House of La Sadé: A beacon of resilience and community

House of La Sadé emphasizes that ballroom culture is more than just glitz and glam. It is a place where individuals at the intersection of multiple minority identities can find support and understanding. “Ballroom culture has always been about survival, joy, and community” said House of La Sadé. “We are thrilled to bring this vibrant art form to Logan and contribute to the growing cultural life of the region.”

The ballroom house will open the march with speeches before leading the procession through the park with their signature voguing. Following the march, they will perform an exclusive showcase, offering attendees a glimpse into the rich history and cultural significance of ballroom.

Logan Pride March and Picnic: A celebration for all

The Logan Pride March and Picnic is a free, all-ages event organized by Assorted Grains Inc. and supported by the Logan City Council. The march steps off at 10 am from the Red Bridgewith attendees encouraged to arrive in their most vibrant rainbow outfits for photos with community drag favourites MOOSE! and Lady Sasscrotch.

Following the march, the afternoon program continues with live DJ sets, bands, community stalls, and more. The event is open to allies and rainbow families alike, with no ticket required. “Last year we made history by hosting Logan’s first-ever pride march,” said Ali StrachanFounder and President of Assorted Grains Inc. “This year, we’re building on that foundation and welcoming House of La Sadé to Logan for the first time.”

Building connections and fostering inclusivity

House of La Sadé expressed their enthusiasm for being part of the Logan Pride March and Picnic. “When Assorted Grains approached us to be part of Logan’s Pride March & Picnic, we said yes immediately,” they said. “For years leading up to the formal debut of our ballroom House, we knew that one of the first things we would aim to do is develop stronger connections with communities in Logan.”
