Pride Adelaide has reopened nominations for the South Australian Pride Awards — and this year the program has been reimagined to better reflect the breadth of contributions across the state. The refreshed awards, launched in 2026, recognise the people, groups and organisations whose work strengthens community, culture, advocacy and wellbeing. Winners will be celebrated at the 2026 Pride Gala on Saturday 6 June (King’s Birthday long weekend) in Adelaide.
What’s new
– The awards now include a wider range of categories to capture different kinds of impact, from grassroots volunteering to workplace inclusion and creative achievement.
– A new venue and program layout will give guests more space to connect; organisers made these changes after feedback from past sold-out events. Around half the tickets had already been snapped up when the update was announced.
– The Gala will also include the Pride Hall of Fame, honouring long-term service and cultural leadership in the state’s LGBTQIA+ community.
Categories
Nominees can be put forward across multiple categories, including:
– Community Group of the Year
– Community Impact Award
– Employer of the Year
– Event of the Year
– First Nations Person of the Year

– Music and Live Performance Award

Who can be nominated
Anyone: individuals, community groups, organisations and employers. Nominations can come from peers, colleagues, audiences or beneficiaries — the aim is to spotlight dedication that often happens without fanfare. Full eligibility details and category descriptions are available on Pride Adelaide’s channels.
Hall of Fame highlights
Pride Adelaide has already named the late Eric Kuhlmann as a 2026 Hall of Fame inductee, recognising his long-standing leadership as Chair and his role in programming and community mobilisation. Last year’s inaugural inductee was the late Helen Bock, honoured for her cultural leadership and advocacy. The Hall of Fame preserves communal memory and honours those whose work created lasting legacies during difficult moments for visibility and rights.
Practical details and timeline
– Nominations are open now. The public deadline is Saturday 21 February 2026.

Why this matters
Broadening the awards aims to lift up underrepresented activities, grow cross-sector visibility and strengthen community networks — from arts and sport to health and workplaces. The Gala is billed as both a celebration and a chance to reflect on the community’s journey while spotlighting current contributors.
