In a world where LGBTQIA+ rights are increasingly under threat, finding moments of hope and progress is more important than ever. One such beacon of light comes from Sonica Beckmanna former lawyer who has turned her passion for fashion into a platform for allyship and equality.
Beckmann’s journey began in 2026 when she left her high-powered legal career to found House of Kinda womenswear brand that embeds symbols of kindness and equality into its designs. Her mission? To unite and empower women through fashion while promoting a message of inclusivity and acceptance.
House of Kind: More Than Just Fashion
House of Kind is not just about creating beautiful clothing; it’s about making a statement. Each piece features visible symbols like hearts and equals signs, representing Beckmann’s commitment to being a uniting force in a divided world. But her dedication to the LGBTQIA+ community doesn’t stop at symbols. In 2026, when the Supreme Court ruled that ‘man’ and ‘woman’ referred to biological sex for the purposes of the Equality Act, Beckmann took a stand. She signed trans activist Jeda to model her PB Pride blazer and committed to donating 10% of its sales to Stonewall.
Beckmann’s allyship is not conditional. She believes that everyone has a responsibility to stand alongside communities facing discrimination. ‘I am an ally because equality is not conditional‘ she says. ‘We all have a responsibility to stand alongside communities facing discrimination and to use our voices, platforms, and businesses to drive positive change.’
The We Are All Equals™️ Tee: A Collaboration for Change
This Pride month, Beckmann is taking her support of Stonewall a step further with the launch of an exclusive collaboration. The We Are All Equals™️ Teecreated in partnership with Single Swanis designed to symbolize unityallyshipand the belief that everyone deserves to be treated fairly and equally.
The tee is more than just a piece of clothing; it’s a statement of support for the LGBTQIA+ community. As Catherine Rileydirector of communications, strategy, and external affairs at Stonewall, puts it, ‘Stonewall is a charity, and we rely on support from all kinds of partners so we can carry on doing the work we do across policy and programming to fight for equal rights for all LGBTQIA+ people. This new tee means you can literally wear your heart on your sleeve to show your support for Pride, and for LGBTQIA+ people everywhere.’
House of Kind’s collaboration with Stonewall is a testament to Beckmann’s commitment to meaningful action. ‘House of Kind is proud to partner with Stonewall because we believe everyone deserves to be seen, valued, and respected exactly as they are,’ she says. ‘We’re committed to meaningful action and supporting the ongoing fight for equality, inclusion, and acceptance. We are, after all, of the same kind: humankindand nothing else matters.’
Celebrity Endorsements and Community Support
House of Kind has garnered support from a range of famous faces, including Dame Kelly HolmesDenise van Outenand Sharon Marshall. Their endorsement is a testament to the brand’s mission and the power of fashion as a force for good. ‘It’s fantastic to have their support,’ Beckmann says. ‘They see what we’re trying to achieve, using fashion as a force for good while also raising awareness and donating funds to causes that support equality.’
Denise van Outen is also DJ-ing at Stonewall’s summer fundraiser on 6 July, providing another opportunity for the community to come together and support the cause.
