The countdown begins for the much-anticipated return of BBC Three’s hit reality dating series, I Kissed a Girl (IKAG). As the network prepares to air the final season this summer, fans are eager to meet the new cast members who will embark on a romantic journey in the picturesque Italian Masseria.

Hosted by the iconic Dannii Minogue and narrated by Charley Marlowethis season promises to deliver a summer of love, laughter, and drama. With 10 queer women from across the UK, the show aims to celebrate queer representation and provide a platform for authentic stories.

The Journey to Love in the Masseria

The Masseriaa historic farmhouse in Italy, serves as the backdrop for this romantic adventure. The cast will live together, forming connections and exploring potential relationships. Each contestant brings a unique personality and set of experiences, making this season a melting pot of diverse stories.

Imogen: The Fiery Princess

Imogena 21-year-old from Manchesterdescribes herself as a “princess” seeking someone who can match her energy. Known for her fiery personality and feminine-presenting style, Imogen hopes to help others who look like her feel comfortable coming out. “Viewers will either love me or hate me!” she shared with BBC Three, hinting at the drama and excitement she brings to the show.

Renee: The Joker of the Pack

Hailing from North LondonRenee is the joker of the group. This 25-year-old stem enjoys switching between masc and femme presentations, always accessorizing with her signature gold grills. Renee is on the lookout for a “pretty Black girl” who won’t dismiss her for her height. Her proudest moment? Following her heart and not caring what others think.

Elise: The Essex Gent

Elisea 24-year-old from Essexidentifies as a “gent in female form.” Coming from a very straight area, she is eager to find her queer community in the Masseria. Elise emphasizes the importance of the show for representation, stating that it can be “truly life-changing, especially for younger people growing up not knowing whether they are supported or loved because they are LGBTQIA+.”

Seeking Love and Community

For many of the contestants, the show is not just about finding love but also about discovering a sense of community and belonging. The Masseria becomes a microcosm of the broader queer experience, where each participant can explore their identity and connect with others.

Nikita: The Adventurous Lover

Nikitaa 24-year-old from Leedsis seeking a mix of masc and femme energy in her potential partner. She values great eye contact and is hopeful about finding “the one.” Nikita describes this season as her “hottest, gayest summer yet,” promising a blend of romance and adventure.

Tyra: The South African Scot

Representing both Scotland and South AfricaTyra has been single for four years. She has a soft spot for “cute brunettes with a nose ring” and is looking for deep conversations. Tyra hopes that her presence on the show will make at least one South African girl feel seen and heard. “This show is SO important for representation, it’s a love letter for queers everywhere!” she exclaimed.

Ebony: The Loyal Golden Retriever

Ebonya 22-year-old from Newcastleis a self-confessed “golden retriever” known for her loyalty and big heart. Despite her masc presentation, she describes herself as a “little gay fairy” on the inside. Ebony is looking for good communication skills and a sense of humor in her partner. “I may be masc presenting, but on the inside I’m just a girly pop!” she added.

The Final Season

As the final season of IKAG premieres, fans can expect a mix of romance, drama, and heartfelt moments. The show has been a pioneer in queer representation, and this season aims to continue that legacy. With four new episodes dropping on BBC iPlayer on 23 June at 6 am, and episodes one and two airing on BBC Three on the same day, viewers have plenty to look forward to.

The remaining episodes will air weekly, with two new episodes every Tuesday at 6 am on iPlayer and 9 pm on BBC Three. This summer, the Masseria will be the stage for a love story like no other, bringing together a diverse cast of queer women in a celebration of love and identity.
