Hope Starts Here: LGBT Foundation's Campaign Reaches 100 UK Locations

The LGBT Foundation has launched a nationwide campaign in partnership with JCDecaux Community Channel, bringing the Hope Starts Here initiative to more than 250 digital screens across almost 100 towns and cities throughout the UK this August. This expansion aims to celebrate LGBTQ+ lives, relationships, and communities, fostering visibility and understanding in public spaces.

The campaign, which reached over 50,000 LGBTQ+ individuals annually, highlights the everyday moments of pride, connection, and joy that define LGBTQ+ experiences. At a time when these communities face ongoing challenges, Hope Starts Here offers a positive narrative rooted in visibility and shared human experiences.

Celebrating Diverse Voices

The campaign features a diverse range of contributors, including LGBT Foundation’s newest Patron and Big Brother star Zelah Glasson ITV’s This Morning’s Eva and Nik Speakman queer lifestyle creators Dani and Jodie RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star Dita Garbo singer Seann Miley Moore influencer Tyler da Clare and community role models from ManchesterLiverpoolBirmingham and beyond.

These voices bring to life the campaign’s message of hope and belonging, showcasing the resilience and joy within the LGBTQ+ community. By featuring a wide array of experiences, Hope Starts Here invites people across the UK to recognize themselves in these stories and reflect on the power of connection.

Amplifying Stories Across the UK

The campaign initially launched during Pride Month in June with an exhibition at Outernet London, reaching millions in the heart of the capital. Now, the partnership with JCDecaux Community Channel will amplify these stories nationwide, ensuring that audiences in various locations can engage with the campaign’s message.

Alongside the Out-of-Home activity, the campaign will continue to be amplified through LGBT Foundation’s digital channels, social media platforms, and Metro’s Queer Hope & Joy editorial series. This integrated approach combines public visibility with online engagement, creating a comprehensive campaign experience that resonates with audiences this summer.

Collaboration for Social Impact

The Hope Starts Here campaign represents a powerful collaboration between the charity, media, creative, and commercial sectors. By leveraging storytelling and public space, the initiative fosters visibility, understanding, and belonging. Sarah Miguel Director of Fundraising & Marketing at LGBT Foundation, emphasized the campaign’s goal to bridge divides and unify people through relatable stories of everyday hope.

Hope Starts Here invites people across the UK to pause, reflect and recognise themselves in LGBTQ+ lives and experiences. By celebrating everyday moments of connection, belonging, and joy, the campaign helps build understanding and visibility at a time when many LGBTQ+ communities continue to face significant challenges.

Chris Dooley Head of Responsible Media at JCDecaux, highlighted the importance of the JCDecaux Community Channel in supporting charitable initiatives. The channel was created to open up access to Out-of-Home media for causes that promote visibility and inclusivity, making it a perfect fit for the Hope Starts Here campaign.
