The wait is finally over. The highly anticipated second season of I Kissed a Girl (IKAG) is set to premiere on 23 June on BBC Three and iPlayer. This season marks the fourth installment in the I Kissed A… franchise, continuing the journey of single queer women seeking love in the romantic setting of Italy.

With 10 new single women ready to find their match, this season promises to be as captivating as the first.

Season 2: A New Chapter in the I Kissed A… Franchise

The first season of I Kissed a Girl made waves for its authentic portrayal of queer women. It introduced a new generation of role models, with stars like Amy Spalding going on to advocate for LGBTQIA+ visibility and queer rights. The show’s unique format, where participants meet their matches with a kiss, has been a hit with viewers.

Despite the excitement for the second season, it was announced earlier this year that this would be the last season of the I Kissed A… franchise. The decision was made due to funding challenges. During Lesbian Visibility Week 2026the cast of the first season spoke out about the impact of this cancellation, highlighting the importance of the show for the community.

The Format: Love at First Kiss

I Kissed a Girl stands out as the first UK dating series specifically for queer women. The show’s format is simple yet effective: 10 single women are matched based on their preferences and meet their potential partners for the first time with a kiss. This unique approach allows them to test their chemistry immediately.

Hosted by Dannii Minoguethe show provides a beautiful setting for the ultimate summer of love. The women are encouraged to give their new relationships a chance, but ultimately, they must follow their hearts. With everyone being a possibility in this love game, the drama and romance are guaranteed.

The brilliantly witty and hilarious Charley Marlowe returns to narrate the highs, lows, and all the steamy moments in between. Her narration adds a layer of entertainment and insight, making the show even more engaging.
